Postcard #11: Bavarian Children—Germany

Joerg sent me a lovely postcard showing a little girl kissing a boy with The Alps in the background. :) According to Joerg, the children use typical Bavarian clothes. The girl wears a Dirndl dress and the boy wears a Lederhosn or leather trouser with beautiful embroideries. The socks are called Wadlstrümpf, while the shoes are called Haferlschuh.

Joerg used a definitive stamp of Tulpe and a nice commemorative stamp of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy—a popular German composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early Romantic period.

Danke, Joerg!
